Lift or Step

One could see from the research that weightlifting is superior to walking 10,000 steps per day. The simple reasoning, walking mainly benefits one’s cardiovascular system and does nothing for the other muscles in the body. Not too mention caloric burn is only during the activity versus with weight lifting the muscles use calories throughout the day to sustain themselves.

I’m not advocating one should not engage in exercise unless it is weightlifting. Rather, if one is short on time, weightlifting will elicit the same cardiovascular response as brisk walking while strengthening one’s muscles at the same time.

However, the research is here for you to decide.https://lionstrengthfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Kaplan-Methodology-and-Analysis2-3.pdf
